I'm a backend engineer based in Edinburgh, working remotely as a Senior Software Engineer at FanDuel. I work on high-traffic Java microservices on AWS — everything from system design and stakeholder work through to shipping and keeping things running in production.
Before moving into software I studied Aircraft Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at the University of the West of Scotland, which gives me a fairly analytical approach to problem-solving. I made the switch into software after completing a professional development bootcamp at CodeClan in 2021 and haven't looked back.
Outside of work I spend most of my time with my partner and daughter — swimming, walking, trips to the arcade, and movies.
